Cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce is critical for the biomedical informatics and data science profession, both from a perspective of fairness and equity and to avoid technology that fails to address concerns of significant portions of the population or that introduces unintentional biases and harm. Although studies continue to demonstrate diversity correlates with better performance in organizations, achieving a diverse and inclusive environment should be pursued because it is morally right. Dr. Bright can assist you in identifying barriers to achieving a diverse and inclusive organization and assist in creating your strategic plan. She is also available to help address data diversity and algorithmic fairness.
